3 Investments to Get the Most of Selling Your Lowry Real Estate

June 22, 2016

As you consider putting your Lowry real estate up for sale, there are several things you can do to get the most return on your investment. By using some of these tips and your local real estate agent, you can make the process of selling your home a breeze as you move on to your next one!
  1. Staging and Personality: When potential buyers are looking at your home, they need to be able to envision their furniture and personal belongings in it. Often times, sellers have the rooms filled with so much furniture and personality that it becomes difficult for them to see how the space would ever work for them. A quick way to help sellers is to de-clutter and take out some of the personalization. Next, if you are finding sellers are not having as much interest in your home, or if you are wanting to be a step ahead before putting the home up for sale, consider having it staged. Work with your realtor on finding a local stager that will help arrange your home—whether they are helping with the décor or if you are interested in revamping the furniture and decorations. 2. Make Essential Upgrades: If your home is a little dated, you may want to consider making a few simple (or extreme) upgrades to give more appeal to buyers. Now, this does not mean you need to go crazy and renovate your house. After all, you do not want to do too much and spend thousands of dollars on additions and renovations that people are not interested in. There are however a few great upgrades you can make in a lower budget to help add some pop and appeal. First, if your appliances are outdated, consider investing in updated appliances. Stainless steel is one of the most popular, but even updated equipment in white or black that provides ample storage space and cooking capacities will be attractive. Also, consider making doors and fixtures consistent. If your home has a mixture of gold and silver handles, then maybe chrome and brushed nickel in the bathroom, you can make all of those things consistent by a quick trip to your local home improvement store.
  3. Great Curb Appeal: The outside of your home is the first impression. It is important that it is attractive to potential buyers and match the quality of the other homes in the area. If the paint is falling off or your siding is falling apart, consider investing in a fresh coat of paint or getting an estimate on replacing the siding. Next, see if your landscaping needs some love. The same with interior upgrades, you do not need to go overboard. In fact, if you need to make any changes to the landscaping, keep it simple so it is easy for future owners to be able to renovate the outdoor space to accommodate their taste. Just be sure to get rid of the weeds and overgrown flowers, keep the grass cut and overall a clean exterior.
