May 11, 2016

Denver’s Observatory Park is one of the preferred neighborhoods in the area. Located in between I-25, Yale, Colorado and University, the area is always active and lively. From restaurants to events, there are plenty of happenings going on. Need plans for May? Here are some events and things to do:
  1. Denver Astronomical Society’s “Public Nights:” Talk about tradition! Since August 1894, the Denver Astronomical Society (DAS) has held “Public Nights” in the University of Denver’s Historic Chamberlin Observatory. DAS explained this event begins with a multi-media astronomy presentation that includes colorful graphics, videos, and more. Suitable for all ages, you can look at telescopic views of the moon, stars, star clusters, planets, galaxies, etc. through their 28-foot-long refracting telescope. Events are held each Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at 2930 E. Warren Ave. in Colorado. Order tickets from the DAS website. They are $3 for children and $4 for adults.
  2. Farm2table Trading Post: Spring and summer means farmer’s markets are back. What better way to kick off warmer weather by picking up some great food? The Farm2table Trading Post Farmer’s Market began on April 3, 2016 and will run through September 25, 2016 and runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event is free and held in the Parker Garage at 19420 Mainstreet in Parker, Colorado.  By shopping at this farmers market, you can take advantage of antibiotic, hormone and steroid-free produce.

They also have rotating topics too, so you just don’t know what to expect. No purchase is necessary to play and they do give out prizes.
